At the Red Cross Museum in Vogelsang, you’ll find Germany’s largest Red Cross museum and the world’s third-largest museum dedicated to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Housed in two historic buildings, the museum takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of humanitarian aid—with a clear focus on current challenges and the future.

Two exhibitions showcase the Red Cross’s global work as well as the history of the Red Cross Movement in the Rhineland. You’ll learn more about human rights, international humanitarian law, international relief operations, and significant events from the Nazi era to the COVID-19 crisis and climate change.

The regional exhibition traces the history from the Battle of Solferino through the founding of the Red Cross to operations during wars, natural disasters, and refugee crises. Numerous exhibits and 40 multimedia stations bring history to life and invite you to rediscover the importance of humanity and volunteerism.
