Kerperscheid

With a population of about 90, Kerperscheid is one of the smaller villages in the Schleiden area. The village is situated in a quiet, elevated location and is characterized by its compact layout and close-knit community.

At its heart is the Maria Hilf Chapel, which was built even before World War I thanks to the dedication of the villagers. To this day, it remains a central gathering place in the village and is maintained and enhanced through community efforts.

The chapel’s interior is particularly noteworthy: a historic organ featuring rare elements such as a “nightingale,” along with lovingly preserved details, make it a little gem within the municipal area.

The adjacent multigenerational plaza complements village life and creates a space for people to come together.
