Schöneseiffen

Schöneseiffen, with a population of just over 400, is located on the Dreiborn Plateau, not far from the Belgian border and above the Oleftal valley. Its elevated location offers sweeping views of the countryside and places it in close proximity to the Eifel National Park.

The village was first mentioned in a document as early as 1322 and is still characterized today by a naturally evolved layout. Facilities such as the sports field, community center, and youth center serve as central gathering places in village life.

Around Schöneseiffen, numerous marked hiking trails invite visitors to explore the surroundings—from the open plateau to the valleys of the Olef. The proximity to the Olef Dam and the Hellenthal Wildlife Reserve expands the range of nature and recreational experiences available.

To the west, the Schleiden-Schöneseiffen wind farm shapes the landscape with its turbines and exemplifies the utilization of the natural advantages of the high-altitude location.

Schöneseiffen combines expansive scenery, a peaceful setting, and a wide range of opportunities to actively experience nature.
