Nierfeld

Nierfeld has a population of about 430 and is located along the Olef River between Schleiden and Gemünd. The town is characterized by the river and the small streams that converge here and continue to shape the landscape to this day.

Its proximity to the Olef River and the village’s established layout make Nierfeld a peaceful starting point for walks along the water and into the surrounding countryside.

A defining feature of the village’s history is the cardboard factory, founded in 1875, which shaped the village’s economy for many years.

Historically, Nierfeld belonged to the sub-district of Dreiborn and has been part of the town of Schleiden since 1972.
