Harperscheid

Harperscheid has just over 400 residents and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Eifel National Park. The village is in a quiet setting and serves as a great starting point for exploring nature on the Dreiborn Plateau and in the surrounding forests.

With a kindergarten, a youth center, a fire brigade, and two churches—the Catholic St. Donatus Church and a Protestant church—Harperscheid is a village with well-established structures and an active community. The community center serves as a central gathering place where events and activities take place.

The surrounding area is perfect for walks and short hikes. A sensory bench with a sweeping view of the reservoir offers a special place to linger and provides impressive vistas of the landscape.

First mentioned in a document in 1322, Harperscheid is one of the historically established settlements within the Schleiden municipal area.
