Herhahn

Herhahn has about 460 residents and is located on the Dreiborn Plateau, offering sweeping views over the Urft and Olef valleys. Its elevation and proximity to the Eifel National Park make the town a great starting point for nature excursions and hikes.

The surrounding area offers a wide range of possibilities: the Urft Dam, the plateau, and the trails leading toward Vogelsang combine scenic beauty, outdoor activity, and spectacular views.

A special place in the village is the old blacksmith’s shop, which has been preserved and opened to the public as a small museum. It offers insights into the traditional crafts and the history of the village.

With the Catholic Church of St. Katharina, a kindergarten, a youth center, and the volunteer fire department’s firefighting unit, Herhahn boasts well-established structures and an active village life. The commercial district with its local businesses, as well as the biennial business festival, provide additional momentum.
