Frosty Vibes: GfW WinterOpening

GfW Schleiden is once again hosting “Frosty Vibes: GfW WinterOpening”—just in time for the start of meteorological winter.

On Tuesday, December 1, the square in front of the Old Town Hall in Schleiden will open for the second time for a special event: GfW Schleiden is once again hosting “Frosty Vibes: GfW WinterOpening”—just in time for the meteorological start of winter.

What began in 2025 as a new event has become a regular fixture in December. Under the motto “Enjoyment and conversation in good company,” GfW is once again transforming the square into a gathering place: neighbors, partners, guests, and residents come together to toast the start of winter and look forward to the coming season.

Live music, mulled wine, punch, and delicacies set the perfect atmosphere—and anyone who’d like to can once again take home one of the popular Frosty Vibes mulled wine mugs. But the WinterOpening is more than just a convivial way to wrap up the year: it’s also intentionally designed as a forum for dialogue. Over mulled wine and good conversation, there’s plenty of room to strike up a conversation—what events is the town still missing? What do residents hope for in Schleiden? And what local businesses or offerings would they like to see? The GfW is happy to incorporate these ideas into its planning for the coming season.

Even at the premiere, the GfW team—from the Tourist Information office to event management and the executive board—summed it up perfectly: They wanted to create an atmospheric evening, say thank you for the support, and be open to suggestions from the community. It is precisely this spirit that carries the WinterOpening into its second edition.
