Orgelkonzert in der Schleidener Schlosskirche
Schlosskirche Schleiden
Andreas Warler, organist at the Schleiden Castle Church, will conclude this year’s concert series on the historic König organ with a festive organ concert.
The program includes, among other works, Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Pièce d’Orgue” in G major, BWV 572; Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Prelude and Fugue in C minor, Op. 37; and an organ sonata in A minor by Josef Rheinberger.
Andreas Warler, born in 1965 in the Eifel region, was initially self-taught before receiving targeted guidance from cathedral organist Walther R. Schuster in Passau. He completed his studies in church music at the St. Gregorius-Haus in Aachen (earning a B-level exam with honors in organ repertoire and improvisation). Further studies took him, among other places, to the University of Notre Dame (USA).
From 1989 to 2019, he served as organist at the König Organ in the Steinfeld Basilica, where he founded the “Steinfeld Vespers Concerts” in conjunction with the International Organ Summer. Numerous CD recordings, radio and television productions, as well as concert tours to many European countries and the U.S., attest to his active international career. Since 2019, he has been the organist at the Schleiden Castle Church and the principal church musician in the Hellenthal-Schleiden Pastoral Region.
