The ArtForumEifel has chosen the four ELEMENTS -- PRIMAL MATERIALS as the theme for the year 2026 and presents as part 3 "Earth eARTh".
The earth as an artist. Art as a seismograph. We are racing at 107,000 km/h on a ton-heavy chunk of rock through the dark vacuum of space – and call it everyday life. The exhibition eARTh brings us back to the ground of reality. It connects the values as primal force (earth) with human creative power (Art). Where does nature end and where does our culture begin?
Artistic positions between myth and modernity:
- Terra incognita: The rediscovery of the supposedly familiar.
- The material communicates: Works made from wood, stone, glass, earth, and pigments in dialogue with the element earth or the four elements in total.
- Between beauty and crack: Art that has no moralizing fingers but feels the pulse of our endangered planet.
- “Art is the emigration from nature into culture.” (Novalis)
