Theater: Furor

Theater performance by the Grenzlandtheater Aachen in the Kurhaus Gemünd.

To kick off the new theater season, the Theaterfreunde Schleidener Tal e. V. are eagerly looking forward to one of the season’s highlights: the comedy “Extrawust” by Dietmar Jacobs and Moritz Netenjakob, produced by the Grenzlandtheater Aachen and also known as a feature film.

It’s really just a formality. The general meeting of a tennis club in a small German town is set to vote on purchasing a new grill for club parties. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem—if it weren’t for the proposal to also fund a separate grill for the club’s only Turkish member. As is well known, devout Muslims are not allowed to place their grilled sausages on a grill rack with pork. A well-intentioned idea, but one that sparks intense debate and puts the otherwise peaceful club to the test.

“Extrawurst” is a comedy by the well-known comedy writers Dietmar Jacobs and Moritz Netenjakob, who have been responsible for such well-known TV shows as “Die Wochenshow,” “Ladykracher,” “Das Amt,” and “Stromberg,” among others.
