Wanderbare Stadt - Wanderung durch den herbstlichen Kermeter

Schleiden-Wolfgarten
Experience the autumnal colors of the Eifel National Park on a guided hike through impressive beech forests, quiet spring areas and past cultural and historical sites. Our path leads us through varied mixed deciduous forests with mighty copper beeches - a symbol of the typical Central European forest - to the traditional Mariawald Monastery, where we take an extended break. On the way, we immerse ourselves in the motto of the national park: "Let nature be nature". We learn exciting facts about the natural development of the forest, the role of the copper beech and the so-called "Prussian trees". The influence of the bark beetle is also visible - dead spruce trees bear witness to the dynamics of a forest left to its own devices. The small beetles and their feeding traces are expertly explained - a fascinating insight into natural processes. Another highlight is the idyllic headwaters of the Heimbach stream. We also enjoy breathtaking views of the Zülpicher Börde and the surrounding area - perfect moments to pause and marvel. The hike ends in the late afternoon back in Wolfgarten.
Sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing and your own food and drink are recommended.
An unforgettable fall day in the midst of wild nature - we look forward to your participation!
