Marienkäfer - Glücksbote oder Räuber?

Schleiden-Vogelsang
Ladybugs are considered messengers of good luck; they are a globally widespread family of hemispherical beetles, whose wing covers usually have a certain number of conspicuous spots. Many species feed on aphids and scale insects. More than 6000 species are known, which is significantly more than the native seven-spotted ladybug (Coccinella septempunctata) in our region, which has seven black spots on red wing covers. An invasive species is the Asian ladybug (Harmonia axyridis), which has become a problem for viticulture.
