Ausstellung: "Artenvielfalt & Upcycling"
Nov 17, 2025 - Mar 27, 2026
Schleiden
Climate change, the ongoing sprawl, and the intensification of agriculture are increasingly destroying the habitats of animals and plants, resulting in a threat to global biodiversity. To raise awareness among students about the global treasure of biodiversity, several classes and courses from the Johannes-Sturmius Gymnasium have been engaged in various artistic techniques over the past months to explore the topic of biodiversity. Although the motto "Biodiversity – Species Knowledge," as a current topic of the Eifel National Park Schools, is traditionally rooted in the natural sciences, art education also offers a great opportunity to learn about animal and plant species, their habitats, and their connections to human culture through the examination of works, nature studies, and artistic activities. Thus, the sixth grades of the Städtisches Johannes-Sturmius Gymnasium have created large-scale collective collages based on photographs from animal and plant encyclopedias, and a fifth-grade class has designed written images of various regional habitats.
