Viewing platform at the Urft dam. The viewing platform on the Urft dam wall was the site of the barrier keeper's homestead built between 1924 and 1926 until it was destroyed in the Second World War. From here you have a wonderful view of Lake Urft, the former Ordensburg Vogelsang and the Urft dam wall.

SternenBlick: Vogelsang IP "Sternenpark"

The Ten Stargazes are places where you can observe the impressive night sky. They are easy to reach and perfectly equipped for an astronomical voyage of discovery on your own. Exciting information and suitable installations help to deepen the fascination of stargazing. Each Stargaze has been given its own theme. Eifel National Park centre - “Wildnis(t)räume” exhibition

In the Eifel National Park centre at the Vogelsang IP “International Place”, visitors can experience nature with all their senses - indoors and outdoors. Surrounded by dense mixed deciduous forests, the modern visitors’ centre above the Urftsee lake has hosted the “Wildnis(t)räume” (“Wilderness Dreams”) exhibition - a barrier-free, interactive nature experience for people of all ages. The Eifel National Park centre is open all year round.

Vogelsang IP

In September 2016, the new visitor’s and exhibition centre, the Forum Vogelsang IP, was opened. The two main exhibitions are the documentation of the National Socialist period, “Destiny: Master Race. National Socialist Ordensburgen - Both Fascination and Crime” and the adventure exhibition “Wilderness Dreams” organised by the Eifel National Park Centre.

Eifel-Blick "Panoramablick"

A magnificent view is offered here on the edge of the village of Dreiborn on the Dreiborn plateau 567 metres above sea level. The view stretches far in a south-easterly direction to the hilltops of the Volcanic Eifel.

Kuckucksley

Lookout point with a refuge and a wonderful view of Olef. Winding paths lead through the forest in the Oleftal up to Kuckucksley.

Nationalpark Eifel

Set in a dramatic landscape of woods interspersed with water, the Eifel National Park will allow you to experience the fascinating natural diversity of a wilderness at first hand. For in this large protection area some 65 kilometres southwest of Cologne, nature has been left once more to its own eternal cycle of growth and decay.
